The Mountaineer Inn is a traditional Vermont mountain lodge located at the base of the Mount Snow Resort in south central Vermont. The Innkeepers provide a warm and welcoming environment for individuals, families and groups. We are known for our outstanding food, spacious public rooms and reasonable rates. The modestly-sized guest rooms are neat, clean and comfortable.
When it’s time to have fun, Mountaineer guests can WALK TO THE LIFTS, trails and seasonal events at the Mount Snow Resort. Short drives allow guests to visit a wide variety of activities and sites in the Deerfield Valley and Southern Vermont.
Since December, 1993, the Mountaineer Inn has been owned and operated by Royal & Ned Wilson. Their philosophy towards Innkeeping has always been to create an atmosphere where you feel like you are visiting your favorite relative who also happens to serve the best food. They want guests to feel welcome, relaxed, comfortable and well fed.
Besides running the Inn, the Wilsons are very involved in the local community. Over the years they have served on numerous community, town, state, local and Chamber of Commerce committees. In 2006, the Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce honored the Wilsons as “Persons of the Year” for their contributions to the area. Ned is a founding member of MHCA, a local non-profit performing arts institution and currently serves as the Vice President. Royal serves on the Wine & Harvest Festival Committee of the Deerfield Valley Chamber of Commerce and is also Vice President of the Dover Historical Society. Each July they sponsor a fund raiser concert featuring New York City’s Village Light Opera Group, Ltd., (VLOG). They both have an enthusiasm for music, live theatre and sports. Ned’s passion for music is translated into his love of playing the piano.
See you in Vermont!
